Did 'Black Adam' Put an End to Johnson's DC Career?

Back in September 2022, fans were eagerly awaiting the release of Dwayne Johnson's superhero film, Black Adam, with hopes that it would shake up the DC universe. Unfortunately, the movie didn't live up to expectations, and Johnson's relationship with DC took a hit. It's now highly unlikely that he will appear in any of James Gunn's upcoming DC films, leaving fans wondering about the fate of his other DC roles as well.

Forgotten DC Debut in 'DC League of Super-Pets'

Prior to Black Adam, Johnson made his first appearance in the DC universe in the animated film DC League of Super-Pets. While this film didn't receive the same level of disappointment as Black Adam, it hasn't garnered much attention or fanfare. Although some fans on the DC subreddit have discussed the possibility of a sequel, the chances of it happening seem slim.

No 'Super-Pets 2' in the Future for Johnson

According to comments on the subreddit, it's unlikely that a Super-Pets 2 movie will ever happen with Johnson involved. The actor has already been replaced in the crossover film Scooby-Doo and Krypto Too!, where Superman's dog plays a major role. Additionally, director James Gunn seems to be planning the introduction of a live-action Krypto in Superman: Legacy. While a sequel to DC League of Super-Pets is technically possible, it's not something fans should hold their breath for.

In conclusion, it seems that Dwayne Johnson's hopes for a surprise DC sequel are slim. While his debut films in the DC universe didn't meet expectations, it's unlikely that he will get a second chance to make a mark. Fans will have to wait and see if Johnson can find success in other superhero franchises.
