Marvel’s Multiverse Saga: A Vision of Chaos?
Listen to the Article
Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans, brace yourselves. It seems like the highly anticipated Multiverse Saga might not be the success we were hoping for. And it's all because of Jonathan Majors.
MCU Woes and Disappointments
The MCU has hit a rough patch during Phase Four, with storylines and character introductions falling flat or leaving us with frustrating cliffhangers. But Marvel thought they had the solution: Jonathan Majors.
Marvel's ambitious choice to cast Majors as Kang the Conqueror in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" promised an influx of multiversal Kang variants ready to dominate the MCU. However, reactions to this decision were mixed.
Glimpse into the Chaos with "Ultimate Invasion"

Marvel Comics' "Ultimate Invasion" offers a glimpse of what the MCU's future might hold. And it's chaotic. In this story, Kang variants wreak havoc, leading to a universe reboot. But describing the complex narrative would require a 3D chessboard, a Powerpoint slideshow, and a Pepe Sylvia-style yarn cork board. Let's try to simplify it.
Prepare for Confusion with "Ultimate Invasion"
In "Ultimate Invasion," a Kang variant battles two Reed Richards variants, resulting in the defeat of that particular Kang. Then, a young Tony Stark variant decides to become another variant of Kang called Iron Lad, donning the guise of Silver Centurion. Iron Lad's mission is to restore a damaged universe caused by one of the Reed Richards variants, rebooting it with fresh reimaginations of familiar stories. It's a never-ending time loop of plot twists and turns.
If "Ultimate Invasion" is any indication of what's to come in Phase Five of the MCU, we might be in for a rollercoaster ride of confusion and chaos. Perhaps a reboot is what Marvel needs to salvage Phase Four and leave disaster-stricken Phase Five behind.
